Admedia was founded by former lawyers Phillip Vecht & Johnny Naggar in 1995. The name ADMEDIA came from the anagram MAD IDEA which sums up how Admedia begun, from the seed of a mad idea.
Phillip came across the idea during his time as a lawyer, and realised that this could be a new advertising opportunity that could easily be adapted for bigger advertisers, placed in washrooms in other retail & leisure destinations. Phillip had worked with various Shopping mall clients who he knew were looking for ways to make their much visited washrooms a valuable money maker.
Back in the UK he did some research in to the idea and found that it was a totally untapped market so far. So, after convincing his colleague at the law firm, Johnny Naggar, that it was an excellent business opportunity, they eventually left the law firm and started Admedia in their parents kitchen in 1995.
By 1997, Admedia had signed up major landlords including Motorway Service operators such as Moto & Roadchef and many of the UK’s top Shopping Malls. The same year saw their first client booking Johnson & Johnson which was closely followed by publishing company IPC media.
Admedia is now a multimillion pound company, working with the UK’s biggest brands, advertising agencies & poster specialists. We also have a dedicated Direct client team who work with small brands and business all over the UK to provide targeted advertising solutions. We are also a member of the Outdoor Advertising Association working alongside other large Outdoor media owners.
Mad idea?......it worked!
